Dinita Putri, Executive Director at Centre for Innovation Policy and Governance

"Studying at the Department of Digital Humanities has given me valuable insights about the challenges and opportunities that we experience in the constantly-changing digital world. The highlight of the department was the humanities perspective and the practices that train student to use various cutting-edge tools to analyse social and cultural data. For me, such practices have encouraged me to explore new tools and methods for analysis. The expertise of the lecturers gave me the access to leading academic research and thinking that has undoubtedly improved my skills and learning. The knowledge I gained from my studies led me to secure a position in one of the leading organisations that working around issues of privacy and technology. I was particularly impressed of the quality of teaching and the multicultural environment which provided a lot of great opportunities for my career."

Patrick Thomas, Senior Technical Project Manager, BAFTA and Senior Operations Manager, D&AD

"With a varied background in Finance, Archaeology & Egyptology as well as Communication Design, the study of Digital Humanities at King’s College London  has enabled me to combine and enhance my skill set into something unique. Practical knowledge of humanities computing combined with analytical techniques that we were taught on the programme have prepared me well for working with project teams in my day-to-day work at BAFTA and D&AD. In these roles one could say I function as a sort of orchestrator for designers, developers and IT, ensuring nothing gets lost in translation. People with an understanding of multiple disciplines and an academic background are rare in the industry and I believe the study of Digital Humanities at KCL has both allowed me to develop my interests as well as teaching me tools and approaches which are valuable not only in academia but which are also highly sought after in the business world too.”

Felicia Panosoglu, International Account Manager, Dentsu Aegis Network

“I have had a very rewarding learning experience at the Department of Digital Humanities at KCL. During my time, I not only was able to build my knowledge around data and digital technologies, but was also able to interpret their broader political, economic and social implications. This solid industrial knowledge base has then opened a vast array of opportunities in a competitive job market such as London, where I was able to stand out from the crowd by demonstrating strong understanding of the contemporary media and technology landscape. I was thus able to progress quickly to an Account Manager role in a global media agency. I also have been able to utilise the critical thinking skills I’ve acquired at the department through thought-leadership pieces within both business and charity environments. Overall, I’m very thankful to my professors and KCL for shaping my future in a better way."
