05 June 2025

Kritika has been involved in the Entrepreneurship Institute community since her first year at King's College London. Keep reading to find out why she thinks being an Associate is the best student job you could ask for...

Introduce yourself...

Hi I'm Kritika, a final year undergraduate student studying BSc Economics and Management at King's Business School. Throughout my university experience, I have worked at the Entrepreneurship Institute (EI) in a number of roles, but for the past year I have been an Operations Associate!

My favourite emoji is 🥰!

Why did you apply to be an Associate at the Entrepreneurship Institute?

I completed the Enterprise Award in my first year and found it super useful and interesting! I wanted to get more involved in entrepreneurship and other events happening at the EI so I applied to be an Associate - and it's the best decision I ever made.

Applying to be an Associate was the best decision I ever made.

You're studying BSc Economics and Management at King's. How has being an Associate complemented your degree?

Being an Associate has given me more practical hands-on experiences in running events and all different kinds of operational tasks that take place before and after the event itself. My role has particularly helped me develop time management, organisational and productivity skills that I regularly use in my course and career.

How were you able to balance being an Associate alongside your studies? Any top tips?

Because of how flexible the nature of the role is, it's a super easy job to balance EI projects with your studies. My best tip would be to consistently communicate with your manager about your availability - if you're entering a busy period with coursework or have exams coming up, just let the EI team know. The Associate role is really flexible and you can pick which projects work best with your schedule and around your studies.

Now you’re reaching the end of the Associate role, what are your top 3 highlights?

  1. Meeting and making new lifelong friends with my fellow Associates - we've all come from different disciplines and backgrounds, and may never have met if it wasn't for the EI!

  2. Working big events (especially the Open Pitch Night or Idea Factory Pitch Off as I found them fascinating to learn from!

  3. Interacting with the founders and the rest of the EI team.

How will you use the skills and experiences you’ve gained as an Associate going forward?

I've already been able to talk about my experiences as an Associate in job interviews and I'll be able to use the 7 entrepreneurial skills going forward in my career through how I show up as an employee.

And finally, what would be your one piece of advice for future Associates at the Entrepreneurship Institute?

Throw yourself into it completely and sign up for as many different events and projects as you can! You learn so much at each one and they are all so much fun to be involved in! Make the most of it, it's the best student job you could ask for.
