This Imaging Bites seminar will present automation in Electron Microscopy. Automating the process of acquiring electron microscopy images has accelerated in recent years. Automation can be used to make lower magnification maps to facilitate navigation to your regions of interest, especially when overlaid with correlative Light Microscopy or other data of those regions. Automation can also enable more quantitative and/or volumetric electron microscopy approaches, and although some of these approaches were possible previously, they remained laborious. Automation allows more hands-off imaging, making more efficient use of expensive or laborious EM technologies. It can also be used to generate data that is more amenable to modern image analysis approaches, making data interpretation more meaningful and significant. Dr Matt Russell will describe some approaches for automation of EM acquisition, with specific example applications using technology available at the Centre for Ultrastructural Imaging (CUI) at King’s.

Join us for this 30-minute seminar, followed by an interactive Q&A, a complimentary lunch, offering a valuable opportunity to network with colleagues and peers in the imaging community. This event is open to all King's students and staff interested in imaging - it is free, but registration is required.
