Scholarship opportunities

Undergraduate Degree Award

One award, valued at £9,250, is available for full-time entry onto one of our relevant undergraduate courses. The awards will be paid in instalments over the duration of the degree. Subject to enrolment, a payment of £3,000 will be made in Year 1, Year 2 and £3,250 in Year 3.

Relevant courses:

All students applying for the appropriate full-time course to begin in September 2023 are eligible for this scholarship, including UK, EU and overseas students.

The scholarship will be awarded through assessment of academic performance. We welcome applications from students able to demonstrate their potential to succeed on their chosen programme. For undergraduate UK applicants, the university will use contextual information to gain a more complete picture of their individual and educational context.

There is no separate application procedure for the scholarship. All individuals who have submitted a complete UCAS application no later than 31 January will automatically be considered for the scholarship.

Applications that are incomplete on receipt (e.g. missing personal statements, references or predicted grades) will not be considered for the scholarship.

The award only covers part of the annual tuition fees and applicants should ensure that they have sufficient means to cover the remaining tuition fees, as well as maintenance costs.

To be offered the award, you must also meet the following criteria: (a) accept King’s offer of a place as your firm (first) choice; (b) meet the conditions of your offer (if you firmly accept an unconditional offer you are automatically deemed to have met the conditions of your offer); and (c) enrol as a full-time student on the appropriate course.

The successful candidate will be notified no later than 30 May 2023.

As students we are always being told to choose between the arts and sciences; never being able to give up one for the other, the Global Health and Social Medicine course has been incredible as it doesn't just accept me not fitting a mould, but actively encourages me to break it. I always find myself genuinely excited for my classes – my lecturers have helped me conceptualize ideas I was never able to put into words and the smaller class sizes have allowed me to meet plenty of like-minded people, even amidst distance learning; I look forward to completing the rest of my years at King's with my cohort.

Eaint (Precious) May Moe, Global Health & Social Medicine BA, 2019-20

The Global Health & Social Medicine course will help me towards my goal of working for a global organisation like the World Health Organization or the United Nations Development Programme. The scholarship was an unexpected and welcome addition to this opportunity and I am very excited for my years ahead at King's.

Jiwon (Sophie) Lee, Global Health & Social Medicine BA, 2018-19

The BSc will be a strong base for my future studies, providing an understanding of medicine and health, as well as experience working in laboratory-based fields such as neuroscience or pharmacology. This scholarship gives me the chance to expand my learning opportunities.

Rachel Morse, Global Health & Social Medicine BSc, 2016-17

Global Health & Social Medicine encompasses a wide range of fields related to the functioning of global health systems, including laboratory-based modules. It is a well-rounded course that is bound to set my path into the world of health and medicine.
