Health Publications at King’s with authors
from Low and Middle Income countries

At King’s College London, we are proud to be publishing with partners around the world on health challenges faced by people living in low and middle income countries. We prioritise research which can have an impact on reducing inequity and which can sustainably improve health outcomes worldwide.

A Truly Global Reach

In 2024 alone, KCL-affiliated researchers contributed to over 2,000 publications on health issues, where there was at least one author from a low- or middle-income country with collaborations spanning every continent. Our global map of low- and middle-income (LMIC) publishing partnerships shows strong connections with partners across Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, reflecting the international nature of our research.

KGHI World map showing publications

Each blue dot on the map represents a location where King's College London researchers have co-authored global health publications with colleagues in low- and middle-income countries. The size of each dot corresponds to the volume of collaborative publications from that location—larger dots indicate a higher number of joint publications.

What Are We Researching?

Dominant themes such as Mental Health, Quality of Life, COVID-19, and Neonatal and Infant Health reflect our focus on both urgent global health threats and persistent challenges.

Other frequently explored areas—ranging from Adolescents, Public Health, and Psychiatry to Schizophrenia, Medical Imaging, and Genetics—demonstrate the breadth of our research. This diversity highlights our commitment to integrating clinical science with social and contextual understanding to improve health outcomes worldwide.
