Working with our global partners, research at King's influences policy and practice improving health and wellbeing in the global south. This novel research underpins our educational and capacity-building initiatives, contributes to delivering impact and drives further innovation.
At the time of writing (Nov 24), active research projects relating to health in the global south totalled over £82m, contributing to the advancement of knowledge and practice.
The King’s research portfolio is spread across the Faculties of Life Sciences & Medicine, Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience, Social Science & Public Policy, Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery & Palliative Care and Dentistry, Oral & Craniofacial Sciences. As such our research portfolio is diverse. We have summarised our research into 9 main themes: Women and children’s health; Health and social science; Inequalities, society and systems; Mental health; Conflict, health and security; Cancer; Palliative care; Dental health; Climate change and health.
Many of these themes are overlapping and research agendas are pursued with a high degree of interdisciplinarity, so many researchers contribute to multiple research themes both in the UK and globally.
