Posted on 30/06/2016
We welcome Professor Judith Green to the Division, as Chair in Sociology of Health.
Professor Green joins us from the Health Services Research & Policy department at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, where she has been since 1996. Prior to that, she held posts at South Bank University, United Medical & Dental Schools of Guy’s and St Thomas’, and King’s College London. She edits the journal Critical Public Health, and is co-author of Qualitative Methods for Health Research (Sage).
A sociologist with particular interests in risk, professions and methodology, her recent research has focused on two areas: one is the public health impacts of environmental policies in areas such as transport, home energy, and street lighting; the second is on the role of evidence in public health.
Professor Green is looking forward to collaborating across and beyond the Division, particularly developing methods for evaluating interventions for improving urban health and wellbeing.
