Miss Bai wins NanoFar poster award
Miss Jie Bai, PhD student with Dr Khuloud Al-Jamal, in the Drug Delivery Group won the best poster award at the 2nd NanoFar Autumn School’s event in Santiago de Compostela, Spain which took place 21-25 October 2013.
NanoFar is a network offering a European Doctorate in nanomedicine and pharmaceutical innovation. The autumn school covered the principal subjects of nanomedicine and pharmaceutical innovation, such as characterisation of drug delivery systems, nanomedicine in anticancer therapy, theranostics and imaging. During this meeting Jie presented her work on ‘Polymeric nanocapsules in triple-modal imaging’ as a theranostic system to be used in cancer imaging and therapy.
Jie’s trip was funded by The ‘European Cooperation in Science and Technology [COST] Action TD1004’, an intergovernmental framework that funds collaborative EU research. NanoFar organized the Autumn School in collaboration with the COST TD1004 Network on “Theranostics Imaging and Therapy: An Action to Develop Novel Nanosized Systems for Imaging-guided Drug Delivery”.
