Our connections

We work with a wide range of networks and partners locally, nationally and internationally to achieve our research and education aims. Our key collaborators include the NHS, local and national governments, the third sector, industry, patients and the public.

Local & national partners

We are a member of King’s Health Partners (KHP) and through KHP we have jointly established the Anticoagulation Reference Centre. Along with Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust we bring together world-class clinical services, research and education for the benefit of cancer patients. Our partnership in pharmaceutical sciences is the world’s only formal healthcare/academic alliance in this area.

International collaborations

Our Institute of Pharmaceutical Science has a 4-year joint PhD programme with the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences (FCP) at the University of São Paulo and the with University of California at San Francisco

Our Comprehensive Cancer Centre has had a clinical, research and training relationship with the Tata Memorial Centre (TMC) since 2007 and in 2017 we were invited by Tata Trusts, to lead their national Cancer Programme. This collaboration between the Indian central, state governments and Tata Trusts is one of the biggest programmes in health care in the world.

IPS have been collaborating with Zhejiang University since 2006 and have patented an orally active iron chelator with considerable therapeutic potential in thalassaemia, sickle cell anaemia and Parkinson’s disease. This has led to the foundation of a China-based Start Up Company (Zede Pharmaceutical Co).

Three academics from the University or Dresden are undertaking haematological research with partners from our School under the transCampus initiative, a unique partnership between two of Europe’s leading academic institutions, King's College London and Technische Universität Dresden – the first of its kind in Europe.
