Postgraduate Research Symposium 2014
The Institute of Pharmaceutical Science's Postgraduate Research Symposium took place on Tuesday 13 May 2014.
Both posters and presentations were of an extremely high standard, and an informative and enjoyable day was had by all. Special thanks go to Professor Miles Caroll (Deputy Director and Head of Research at Microbiology Services at Public Health England) for ending the day with his lecture: ‘The Challenges of Vaccine R&D: from Jenner to Rappuoli’.
The best poster prize went to Miss Jie Bai, for her poster demonstrating ‘Magnetic Targeting of Theranostic Nanocarriers for Combinatory Cancer Therapy’, with Mr Francis Man as runner up with is poster ‘Exploring the anti-inflammatory mechanism of mycobacteria of mycobacteria-derived Peptide XRF’.
The best presentation was awarded to Clare Sand for her presentation ‘Microvascular blood flow as a predictor of organ failure in sepsis’, with Siobhan Gee as runner up with ‘Practitioner Attitudes to Clozapine Initiation’.
The Institute would like to congratulate all the winners from the day, and thank all students who participated.
