Yaoyao Wang,a PhD student in the Institute of Pharmaceutical Science, has been recognised by the Chinese government for her achievements whilst studying abroad.
The ceremony for the 2015 National Award for Outstanding Self-financed Chinese Students Abroad took place in the education section of the Chinese Embassy and Yaoyao was presented with her award by the Chinese Ambassador, Liu Xiaoming.
The awards, founded by Chinese government, have been bestowed annually since 2003. They serve to recognise the academic excellence of non-Chinese-government funded Chinese PhD students from different disciplines in 29 countries. Only those with outstanding performance in their PhD studies will be considered by the award selection panel and no more than 500 young talents will be granted the award each year all over the world.
