About Dr Bello
Gianluca obtained his BSc degree in Health Biotechnologies in 2006 and a MSc degree in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology in 2009 at the University of Padua. The practical element of the MSc was carried out at King's under the supervision of Dr Harvey. Gianluca joined Dr Harvey's team as a PhD student in January 2010.
Since joining the Pharmaceutical Biophysics Group, he has become proficient in peptide expression and purification, lipopolysaccharide purification from E. coli, CD spectroscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy and scattering techniques.
Gianluca worked on an EPSRC funded project that investigated how antimicrobial peptides interact with the endotoxic lipopolysaccharides of Gram-negative bacteria and successfully completed his studies in March 2014.
He is now working as a post-doctoral fellow at BOKU University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna
