Beatriz studied Biological Sciences at the University of Salamanca in Spain. Later, she moved to the UK where she worked as a laboratory Technician in the Research Oncology department at Guy's and where she acquired significant experience in the management of tissue culture labs. She also studied a Masters course in Environmental Health in which she specialised in HPLC and Mass Spectrometry techniques.
Beatriz assisted in the smooth running of the IPS Tissue Culture Facility in FWB and contributed to research projects and provided technical support and help in practical classes when required.
Beatriz's project focused on the development of pH responsive peptide vectors for the delivery of siRNA therapeutics to combat metastasis in breast cancer. Beatriz completed her PhD studies in September 2017 and successfully defended her thesis in December 2017.
