Dr Thomas Vargues
Thomas completed his PhD at the University of Edinburgh in 2009 before joining Dr Mason's group as a post-doc funded by the MRC. Thomas is expert in a variety of biophysical methods, in particular liquid-state NMR, and has considerable experience in the expression of antibacterial peptides in E.coli
His research focused on the production of stable isotope enriched human beta defensin-2 (hBD-2) in an E. coli expression system which was a gift from Dr Campopiano, his former supervisor in Edinburgh. Thomas is now pursuing a career with an affiliate of Schlumberger.
