The School of Mental Health & Psychological Sciences is home to many of the basic and evaluative sciences (for example, psychology, genetics, economics, statistics, informatics) that underpin research and expertise at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN) (such as, psychology, service research and implementation science). Through our work, we improve the impact of scientific breakthroughs across King’s Health Partners. Our teaching and research links across the whole IoPPN. The School of Mental Health & Psychological Sciences embraces research, education and clinical translation aiming to further understand and improve mental health and brain disorders and train the next generation of researchers and practitioners.
We are proud of our diverse and successful education portfolio which boasts thriving student cohorts, delivers inclusive education, and receives excellent student feedback. We offer undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes, an HCPC approved and BPS accredited Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, and internationally renowned clinical training programmes for mental health professionals. In addition, we offer a range of professional development/specialist courses including the Biostatistics & Health Informatics Executive Education Programme and Summer Schools in qualitative research methods and implementation science.
Each department within the School of Mental Health & Psychological Sciences offers postgraduate research training. All of our postgraduate research students operate in world-class facilities, and benefit from fantastic support networks and training opportunities, obtaining first class research training in a vibrant multidisciplinary research community.
