ADHD and Associated Disorders

Our research focuses on attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and neurodevelopmental and psychiatric disorders that often co-occur with ADHD. We take a developmental approach, studying the disorders and traits from childhood to adulthood.

Adolescent Mental Health Advisory Group

NIHR Maudsley BRC is setting up an Adolescent Mental Health Advisory Group for young people who have experience of mental health problems or caring for someone with mental health problems, to meet with researchers to discuss their projects, and improve the quality of mental health research studies.

Autism and Development Team

The Autism & Development Research Group aim to increase the understanding of cognitive and behavioural development in individuals with autism and the factors that influence this over time.

Causal Analysis & Evaluation

The Causal Modelling Group comprises statisticians and methodologists at King’s College London interested in drawing causal inferences from study data.

Centre for Implementation Science

The Centre for Implementation Science is home to a team of expert implementation and improvement science researchers, including health economists and statisticians. This team are investigating how best to help ‘implement’ evidence-based practice and clinical research within health services nationally and internationally.

The Centre for the Humanities and Health

A multidisciplinary forum interfacing the humanities, health, science & society, researching patient subjectivities and lived experiences in relation to illness and health services

Centre for Global Mental Health (CGMH)

The Centre for Global Mental Health (CGMH) aims to address inequities by closing the care gap, and to reduce human rights abuses experienced by people living with mental, neurological and substance use conditions, particularly in low resource settings with a view to contributing to a world where all people living with mental, neurological and substance use disorders can live a life of meaning and dignity.

Danese Lab: Stress & Development

The Stress & Development Lab is led by Andrea Danese, Professor of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. The Lab aims to understand how stressful experiences in childhood affect development and later health, and how to best support children who had such traumatic experiences.

DISCOVER Research Group

Adolescence is a key period for the prevention and treatment of depression and anxiety, as half of lifetime mental health problems start by the age of fourteen. However, few evidence-based treatments exist and current services are limited. Additionally, help-seeking is very low, particularly among black and minority ethnic groups.
