King's Careers & Employability is delighted to be announcing a new partnership between Sutton United Football Club and King’s College London, supporting our students to develop employability skills and further enhance the programme of valuable work experience opportunities available to King’s students.

King’s College London is an internationally renowned university delivering exceptional education and employability outcomes for students, having received a Gold ranking for student outcomes in the most recent Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF). The project will see us further strengthen this by collaborating with Sutton United Football Club on a new virtual internship project supporting the Club's plans for sustainable development.

Recognising the challenges that some students may face in obtaining in-person work experience, the programme will offer virtual work experience opportunities whereby students will engage with a real employer and produce research in a group setting for a real-life brief in flexible and dynamic way.

This will enhance the already diverse range of experiences for students to gain meaningful work experience at King’s, as well as facilitate cross-disciplinary learning amongst King's students.

It is exceptionally exciting to be able to work with a world leading institution such as King’s College London, whose Guy’s Campus is just a short train ride from Sutton station. The brief of sustainable development is particularly pertinent at this moment in time as the Club furthers its transition into having a fully professional set up. We are mindful of the imperative to always be as sustainable as possible whilst we are doing this and being able to tap into the wealth of expertise and resources that King’s offers will be extremely helpful to meeting that objective

We’re excited to include Sutton Football Club as an industry client on our new Postgraduate Virtual Accredited Internship Programme. King’s College London recognises the challenges faced by some of our students to successfully obtain an in-person internship and is proud to offer an inclusive Virtual credit-bearing programme supported by our partner’s Practera. With the support of industry clients like Sutton Football Club, we can continue to empower all student groups to respond to real world business challenges’
