Biography

Dr Jones taught languages in secondary schools for 16 years and introduced formative assessment and records of achievement into her last school. During that time she worked as Visiting Lecturer at King’s College London and was appointed to a full-time post in 1994.

Dr Jones has participated in numerous international projects to provide platforms for teachers and school leaders to share their knowledge and practices of learning teaching and assessment on a cross-national basis.

Her research interests are all aspects of languages teaching and learning, assessment, teacher development and comparative education.

Dr Jones is currently Senior Lecturer in Education at King's. She speaks several languages including:

  • French (advanced)
  • Serbo-Croat (intermediate)
  • Spanish (basic)
  • German (basic)

PhD supervision

Dr Jones has taken through a large number of doctoral students to successful completion and won the King's College London Excellence in Supervision award in 2017. She has examined doctoral theses extensively in other universities all over the UK on topics as in her profile but also in ELT and in CFL.
