Biography
Erin joined the Department of Political Economy in September 2025. Her PhD research looks at how families and communities in Palestine understand and respond to women’s involvement in armed resistance, with a focus on political agency and gendered power relations. Her broader research focuses on how the everyday political practices of Arab women, particularly in contexts of violence and occupation, challenge dominant narratives and disrupt global hierarchies of knowledge production.
She holds a Master’s degree in Middle Eastern Studies and Arabic Language from SOAS and a BA in Politics from Durham University. Alongside her doctoral work, Erin is a Research Assistant in DPE, has held communications roles across British politics and worked in the humanitarian sector, including as a legal support officer for refugee children in Egypt.
