Course overview
By studying Swedish Level 2, you will be able to understand general and detailed information and to communicate in standard speech on a range of everyday issues, be able to read printed and handwritten script on a limited number of everyday topics, be able to write simple texts using descriptive language accurately and have developed intercultural competence.
What does this course cover?
Topics may typically include:
- Living and accommodation
- Telephone calls, emails and conversations
- Body parts and health
- News and media
Functions may typically include:
- Discussing and comparing different accommodations (incl. furniture)
- Discussing telephone manners, sending emails and having office conversations
- Asking and responding to questions about health and people
- Discussing news and current affairs
- Giving presentations
Grammar may typically include:
- Adverbs and adjectives, comparison
- Verbs for position of things: ‘sitter’, ‘ligger’, ‘står’
- Adjectives, definite forms
- Short answers
- Answering positively to a negating question with “jo”
- Subordinators
- General revision and consolidating of all grammar learnt so far
What will I achieve?
When Swedish Level 2 is complete, you will achieve the equivalent of A1/A2 level of the CEFR, level 1 of the RQF, equivalent of GCSE/ O-level grade A.
