Celebrating Brazil Week

Each year, we host a celebration of research, education, and outreach activities on Brazil with the Brazil Institute at King’s.

In the midst of major global shifts in recent years, Brazil has asserted its agency across critical issues including democracy and governance, climate change and the Amazon, cultural innovation, and global trade.

Brazil Week 2025 explored how Brazil can exercise greater role in shaping global conversations and challenging distances created by power imbalances.

We’re proud to announce that the King’s Brazil Institute is home to the Cátedra Rio Branco, sponsored by CAPES – Brazil’s Federal Agency for Support and Evaluation of Graduate Education.

This prestigious chair strengthens academic exchange between Brazil and the UK, fostering world-class research, teaching, and dialogue on Brazil’s role in the world.
