Dr Théo Clément

Project Alpha Research Associate

 

Théo Clément is a Research Associate at Project Alpha. He focuses on China-DPRK-related issues and economic sanctions.

He completed his Ph.D. research on "China's economic engagement strategies towards the DPRK" at the University of Lyon and the University of Vienna. This required completing long field research stays in the China-DPRK borderlands, and in North Korea itself.

He obtained an M.A in International Relations from Sciences Po Lyon, and a second M.A in East Asian Studies from the École Normale Supérieure de Lyon.

Théo Clément held a short-term visiting lecturer position at the University of Yanbian in China, and regularly consults with the public sector in France and with private companies elsewhere.

He speaks French, English, and Mandarin Chinese, and has some knowledge of German, Spanish and Korean.”
