Belong, Thrive, Grow: Discover new opportunities with King's Black Excellence

Three students smiling

We’re excited to introduce King’s Black Excellence – a new programme designed to enhance the student experience for Black & Mixed Black heritage home undergraduate students of all years.

What does the programme include?

This new initiative has been co-created with students, and is focused on supporting your academic and personal success by building community and creating new opportunities for you at King’s.

There will be 14 events taking place across the academic year which will touch on the programme’s four key pillars: Community Building, Curriculum Support, Culture Change and Careers & Skills Support.

The wide range of events will include:

  • Fun and inclusive socials to make new friends and build your community
  • Career development workshops empowering you to reach your full potential
  • Academic skills sessions to support your success in the classroom
  • Many more exclusive events and opportunities designed to help you thrive

How can I take part?

The first two socials of the year will be taking place on Tuesday 23 & Thursday 25 September 2025 with food, games and even some prizes to be won.

If you’re a Black or Mixed Black heritage home undergraduate student, you can complete the relevant sign-up form for first-year students or second years and above.
