Download SafeZone, the free safety and wellbeing app

The SafeZone App main page

SafeZone is a free safety and wellbeing app for King’s students and staff. Through the app, you can contact the King’s security team to get help quickly in the event of an emergency, accident or if you feel vulnerable.

'Check-in' to share your location with the King’s security team, making them aware of where you are working, should you be alone or on campus out of hours.

You can even set a ‘Check–In Timer’ for a fixed time to cover the period when you are lone–working or just need reassurance when working alone on campus. Please see the ‘Checking in with SafeZone’ video for more information on this feature.

How you can raise alerts

Use the red ‘Emergency’ button if you believe you or someone else is in immediate danger or require urgent first aid assistance.

Use the green ‘First Aid’ button if you need general first aid assistance for yourself or someone you are with.

Use the blue ‘Help’ button if you need assistance from the security team but you do not need an urgent response.

Use the ‘Report Something’ button to log a range of things, from light bulbs which require replacing to reporting harassment and abuse. Please note that this is an emergency functionality, different to Report + Support, the online tool where you can report incidences of inappropriate behaviour that you experience, or you witness happen to someone else. Find out more in the Report + Support: Helping to prevent bullying and harassment article.

If you raise these alerts, SafeZone will share your location with the security team automatically in case someone needs to come and assist you. To ensure we can locate you if you raise an alert, please remember to activate 'Auto Check-in', or press ‘Check-In’ each time you arrive on campus. Please see the ‘Raising alerts through the SafeZone App’ video for more information.
