King’s wins London Varsity 2022

Crowd cheering at a varsity event

For the first time since 2016, King’s has officially won London Varsity 2022 against UCL.

From Wednesday 17 – Tuesday 22 March, sports teams from KCLSU and University College London Union (UCLU) competed in the great tradition that is London Varsity.

There were 28 fixtures in total, and with the final overall score being 15-13, if you want to find a complete tally of the results team by team, view the scores here. Congratulations to all of the KCLSU sports teams that participated and showed what being a King’s team really is about.

This year, some incredible things happened, such as the 3-point buzzer-beater that helped KCL Basketball Men’s win 81 – 80 and other notable victories such as GKT Football Women’s 12-0 win against RUMS and the Men’s Lacrosse team winning 14-9.

Many of the sports teams who participated at this year’s varsity are supported by King’s Sport’s Development Team programme, which offers training support in the way of tailored programmes and development workshops.

We hope you enjoyed this years’ Varsity as much as we did. If you're keen on attending the next big sports event, the Macadam Cup will be returning soon on Wednesday 6 April. Find out more and get your free ticket for the event here.
