What’s next for Wayfinding at King’s?

Surrey street

We are excited to announce that the East Building (EAS) on Strand Campus now has updated room numbers and directional signage as part of the Wayfinding Strategy Project.

As one of the Surrey Street Buildings, the East Building (EAS) was previously difficult to find and navigate so we have added clearer signage to improve the experience for those who study and work within this building. As you move through the building, you’ll spot the new signs or scroll down to see a few examples!

Three updates to highlight:

  • Now known as ‘East Building’ to reduce confusion with other buildings with similar names
  • Several rooms previously listed as part of North Wing have moved into East Building
  • Old Watch House spaces have been incorporated into the room numbering for East Building to improve navigation to and within this space.
East Building level directory listing floors LG1 to 4, with rooms EAS LG01–LG03, G01–G08, 101–118, 201–212, 301–304, and 401, plus access to lift, way out to Strand, and Old Watch House.
East Building Level 1 sign showing directions to Rooms EAS 101–111 and 112–115, toilets, and way out via lifts and stairs.
East Building ground level directional sign showing routes to Room EAS G01, Rooms EAS G02–G08, toilets, and way out to Strand, with arrows indicating direction.

What's next?

Learn the new room numbers - especially classrooms. We know this won't happen overnight, but before you know it, the old room numbers will be a distant memory!
