Research shows that many students experience a drop in confidence or wellbeing a few weeks into the academic year as they adjust to university life, friendships, independent living and growing academic demands.
Wobble Week is here to remind you that it's normal to find things challenging sometimes, and to highlight the support, activities and resources available across the University.
There will be activities for Wobble Week throughout Reading Week, Monday 2 November – Friday 6 November. Drop in and take a break or try something new.

Some practical tips for looking after your wellbeing and health
- If you still haven’t registered with a GP, now is the time as we're approaching cold and flu season. We recommend registering with King's College NHS Health Centre GP, or a NHS GP near where you live. Register with KCHC online.
- (Re)engage with your interests and coping strategies. What do you do to feel better when you're feeling stressed out, lonely or low? Whatever your strategies are, being in a new city and environment means you will likely have to adapt or find alternatives. If you enjoy working out, consider checking out King’s Sport and Wellness Centre. Interested in societies and clubs? Try KCLSU and their Wellbeing activities. For avid readers and film lovers, don’t miss the King’s libraries collection.
- Autumn and winter weather in London can be unpredictable so make sure you have weather appropriate clothing at hand. Consider hooded and water-repellent outwear, rain proof shoes and warm socks, and remind yourself that this too shall pass!
- Soup season is here. You might be surprised to find how your feelings can improve after having hot food. A useful question to ask yourself: Am I feeling annoyed, low or angry, or am I hungry? For food options on campus, check out King’s Food outlets and this KCLSU list on where you can get hot water on campus.
- A quick mindset check – remind yourself that the reality of studying and living in London might feel different to your expectations and what you see on social media, and that’s okay! Allowing yourself to experience the differences without putting a value judgement on it right away.
