The Faculty of Social Sciences & Public Policy is offering five scholarships of £5000 each to support online postgraduate study. Applications are particularly welcome from underrepresented groups.

- Five scholarships, worth £5,000 per student across both intakes, available as a partial contribution towards tuition fees for the online programme: MSc International Development
- Please note scholarship funds are not eligible for use toward the deposit.
- The deadline for submissions (for the September 2025 intake) is 27 August 2025.
- The deadline for submissions (for the January 2026 intake) is 15 October 2025.
- Interviews, if deemed necessary, will take place shortly afterwards.
Eligibility criteria
- Applicants must accept an offer of admission to the MSc International Development programme to be eligible for the scholarship.
Application process
Submission of:
1. A Personal Statement which should demonstrate:
a) financial need, and b) the impact receiving this scholarship will have on you/your career (500 words maximum);
2. Curriculum Vitae (two pages maximum).

Please note the final submission deadline is 27 August 2025, at 23.59 (BST) [September intake] and 15 October 2025 at 23:59 (BST) [January intake].
Shortlisted applicants will then be invited to interview (if deemed necessary), which will be conducted online by a panel convened by the Department.
