Turkish Embassy - Postgraduate Funding

Subject areas:

All subjects.

Funding type:

Tuition fee.

Country:

Turkey.

Master's and PhD students who are funded through the Turkish Embassy Education Consultancy in London are eligible to receive a 20% tuition fee discount.

Award details

To consolidate the relationship between King's College London and the Turkish Embassy Education Consultancy in London, an agreement was signed in 2018 to support postgraduate study for Turkish students at King's College London. The agreement commenced from the 2018-19 academic year and is effective for five years.

Award value

As part of the agreement, all Master's and PhD level students who are confirmed to be funded by the Turkish Embassy Education Consultancy in London receive a 20% tuition fee cover/discount from King's College London.

Scholars who undertake a pre-sessional English course at the King's English Language Centre (ELC) prior to the start of their postgraduate degree at King's will also receive a 10% rebate on their pre-sessional course fees. This is applied after scholars commence their postgraduate programme.

The tuition fee cover is managed through the King's College London Centre for Doctoral Studies and only those who are confirmed as scholars by the Turkish Embassy will benefit from the fee cover/discount. King's will cover the agreed tuition fee discount (as mentioned above) and the Turkish Embassy will normally pay the remaining tuition fees and provide each scholar with a monthly stipend.

Eligibility criteria

Students must meet the standards required by the Turkish Embassy as well as the admissions entry requirements for their chosen postgraduate programme (including any English language requirements) at King's College London.

Application process

Students interested in pursuing a Masters or PhD Degree at King's should apply for admission following the usual King's procedure, and meeting the standard admission requirements (including any English language tests).

The application for funding from the Turkish Embassy is handled separately. Applicants are required to apply to the Ministry of Education and they need to go through various steps and stages in order to be considered. Due to the competitiveness of the programme, not all applicants are successful.
