Module description

This year-long module has been designed to help MA students in English navigate their programmes, prepare for their dissertation and review their options post-graduation. It offers support in critical writing and advanced research methods, introducing students along the way to current conversations in English Studies and in other related fields. General skills workshops, advanced research seminars and one-on-one supervisions will form the basis of instruction. For those students required to take this module for credit, assessment will be both summative and formative: in the second semester, students will prepare a portfolio of written work outlining their dissertation's proposed intervention and explaining its place in the critical conversation; later in the summer, students will present on some aspect of their project at a conference or colloquium in their programme.
