Citizenship Payment Plan

The Citizenship Payment Plan supports parents in funding the cost of British citizenship for their children, helping them access student finance.

For many of our local families, their children are not British citizens despite being eligible. The cost of a child citizenship application at £1,012 is often unaffordable. Not being a British Citizen can prevent individuals being eligible for student finance.

In 2019 we created the Citizenship Payment Plan in collaboration with Citizens UK and EdAid. The payment plan splits the cost of the citizenship application into 12 equal, interest-free instalments over 12 months. Repayments are recycled, meaning more families will be able to benefit from the scheme.
