Hi, I’m Samira and I study the BA Social Sciences course at King's. I have really enjoyed how interdisciplinary the course is in its nature in that you have the power to tailor assignments to your own interests, which I think is a unique selling point of our programme.

Being part of the Social Sciences programme feels like a tight knit community due to the course size and because of how friendly the students and staff are – we all know each other personally. We also have course community meetings twice a semester and this really helps build a strong rapport with others on the programme and to raise issues and thoughts collectively to shape the course in a positive way.

As for why I chose King’s, there are a number of reasons! Firstly, the range of societies and networks we have is great – we have over 330 so I guess you can say we’re spoilt for choice! I personally have engaged in a few of these societies and networks such as BAME in the City and the First-Generation Network and strongly advise prospective and incoming students to seize these opportunities and make the most of them whilst you're here!

The careers service at King’s is fantastic too, hosting an array of events which have been really beneficial for me. Overall, I have had a great experience at King’s and in my home faculty and am looking forward to more.
