Professor Janet Walsh

Professor in Human Resource Management 

Janet‘s principal research focuses on the areas of organisational flexibility, particularly non-standard and outsourced employees; working-time, gender and the work-family interface; front-line service work and call centres, and the HRM practices of multinational corporations. She has studied the temporal and organisational experiences of part-time employees and analysed the factors associated with work-life conflict among female and male hospital doctors. In addition, she is engaged in research on part-time employment and performance, as well as a comparative study of work relationships in call centres in the UK, the US and Australia. Janet is also currently researching gender, diversity and career development within the legal profession.
