Mission & Vision
King’s Business School: To educate, to challenge, to change
Our vision is to educate responsible leaders who create positive, sustainable change in business and wider society.
Business and society are undergoing profound disruptions, transforming the way we live, work, consume and learn. There is heightened scrutiny of business and societal ethics with consequences for data privacy and security, people management and stakeholder engagement. As a new business school, we will respond to these societal shifts, advancing King’s ambition to make the world a better place, locally and globally.
We will do this by using the full breadth of world-class, interdisciplinary education and research across King’s. We will create innovative learning opportunities that challenge our students, and we will support our academics to produce research and ideas that advance meaningful change in business, policy and society.
We will use our London location to collaborate with the great diversity of entrepreneurs, business leaders, politicians and thinkers who are our neighbours. And we will look out into the world at every opportunity – engaging our diverse global community of alumni, academics and students and building international partnerships that enrich our expertise and impact. Our ambition is to educate, to challenge and to change.
Our research interests reflect the challenges faced by our changing world. Our collaborations with business, government and civil society will ensure that our research influences and impacts individual leaders, organisations and entire communities. This research and our wider connectivity will expose our students to the very best thinking and most innovative practice.
We will foster the development of global and responsible leaders. We are supporting our students to develop entrepreneurial mindsets, to challenge conventional thinking, to have space for reflection and to put their skills into action during their studies. Our graduates will go on to build meaningful and successful long-term careers, championing ethical leadership, as underpinned by our endorsement of the UN Principles of Responsible Management Education.
Research at King’s Business School is grounded in world-class social science. We will address complex problems with fresh perspectives and innovative collaborations that transcend traditional academic boundaries and that employ data in novel ways.
King’s Business School will be recognised in the top-bracket of University-based UK and European Business Schools by 2023. In that that time, we will: achieve top 10 REF status (2021), have a Master’s in Management programme firmly established in the top 50 of established global rankings and be a go-to destination for thought-provoking insights and innovative solutions.
