Dr Kai Syng Tan in the Department of Social Genetic & Developmental Psychiatry

Working in collaboration with Philip Asherson, Professor of Molecular Psychiatry, Dr Kai Syng Tan was resident in the Department of Social, Genetic & Developmental Psychiatry from 2017–18 and worked on a new commission that wove science and art together to explore mind-wandering and the boundaries between 'normal' and 'abnormal' behaviour.

Arts in Mind was a week-long festival celebrating innovative collaborations between researchers at the  Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN) and the creative and cultural sector. It showcased work that explores new ways to improve wellbeing and facilitate a better understanding of mental health, the brain and the mind.
