Opportunities and resources for staff

Partnerships with artists and cultural organisations can:

  • stimulate new approaches to research and to disseminating research findings
  • help to trial and test new knowledge in real world environments
  • offer distinctive learning opportunities in and alongside the curriculum
  • provide opportunities for volunteering and service learning
  • enhance communication skills
  • support students in developing creativity, networks and confidence
  • increase skills and employability for students.

The Culture team provides a range of opportunities and resources that support staff and students in making the most of the university’s extensive connections in the cultural sector, which extend locally, nationally and internationally.

These include:

The Culture team’s dedicated Cultural Engagement Manager is part of a network of staff who can support and advise academics on increasing the impact of research – and reaching wider audiences – through cultural collaborations.

The Research Management and Innovation Directorate offers support to researchers to develop high-impact engagement practice in partnership with Science Gallery London and other hubs at King’s. The service includes consultation and support on engagement aspects of research grant applications

Collaborations with artists and cultural organisations provide an imaginative and effective way to share new knowledge and to engage different communities in the process of research.
