We know it's not always possible to visit us in person, so if you're not in London on campuses where we run discussions, we offer appointments and advice by email, phone or Skype.

Advice by email

If you are seeking feedback on your CV, cover letter or application it may be possible to review this by email.

You can email your documents to us along with details of the position and organisation and deadlines and we'll pass this onto one of our Application Advisers to review.

We aim to provide feedback within three working days, but cannot always guarantee this at our busiest times, so we always advise booking an appointment where possible.

Advice by Skype or phone

If you're not in London or it's easier for you to have an appointment by phone or Skype, contact us on the morning you want an appointment (Mon-Thurs) and we'll arrange for your appointment to be conducted this way.

It's always helpful for us to understand why you can't make it for our own records and to ensure we continue to adapt our services.

Preparing for your appointment

To get the most from your appointment(s), please consider the following:

  • Bring a hard copy of your CV, cover letter, application or other supporting documentation to save time printing this off when you arrive.
  • Consider any questions you wish to explore beforehand and make some notes you can bring with you to the appointment.
  • Prioritise what you wish to cover to ensure the most pressing items are covered during the appointment, but bear in mind we may not be able to cover everything in one appointment.
  • Prepare to be asked some questions - these may help you reflect on your current strengths or skills and provide us with a greater wealth of information.
  • Conduct some research using our own resources or broader research.
Non-attendance policy

There is high demand for appointments and they are often oversubscribed.  If you are unable to attend please ensure you cancel your appointment so another student is able to benefit from your space.

We operate a non-attendance policy for all our appointments and events.  If you fail to attend a total of three appointments and/or events during a term we reserve the right to revoke your online booking priviledges for a period of 30 days.  For full details please read our non-attendance policy.

We hope to make our appointments as accessible as possible to students with a disability. If you have any issues or questions about access to the buildings that our appointments take place in, you can find a comprehensive list of the facilities within our buildings at the StrandGuy's and Waterloo.
