KEATS: Personalising the Learning Experience (Advanced)

Description:

This ‘flipped’ version of the KEATS 3 session will require attendees to complete activities in their own time (approx. 60 minutes) before everyone comes together to discuss the activities and the features that were explained in the self-directed aspect of the session. A step by step guide will be sent to all participants to work through, creating a personalised learning experience in a contained and private KEATS area. KEATS (Moodle) is a key tool in supporting teaching and learning at King’s and can be used to effectively personalise the learning experience. This hands-on session provides participants with guidance on how to use more of the advanced KEATS features to provide a more tailored learning experience for students. Participants will learn how to use tools and settings like ‘restrict access’ to release resources based on certain criteria, understand how students’ progress can be personalised and tracked, and create badges for incentivising progress.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the session the learner should:

  • Understand how KEATS can be used to provide a more personalised and tailored experience for students.
  • Be able to add a Condition to an Activity, enabling you to hide resources from participants until specific conditions have been met.
  • Be able to add an Activity Completion condition, enabling users to mark resources or activities which have been viewed or completed.
  • Be able to create and add Badges to KEATS as an extra incentive to students for accessing content or completing an activity.

Sessions:

This CPD session is run throughout the academic year. Please visit Skills Forge for booking details.
