Veminism: Exhibition Opening Night

Veminism is an arts-based feminist approach to understand and address gendered violence through visual and embodied methodologies. Join us at our opening drinks reception as we share our work, including powerful performance pieces, and launch our Student ‘zine ‘Embodied Stories’.

Programme:

Introductions by the VEM team, Jelke Boesten, Cathy McIlwaine, Rachel Kerr, Phoebe Martin, Tiffany Fairy and Suzanne Hall, and words of welcome from Rachel Mills CBE, Senior VP (Academic)

There will also be a series of presentations from participating poets and performers who have collaborated to make this exhibition happen, and drinks reception with the chance for you to network and discuss with academics, creatives and activists.

The following themes will be addressed:

  • Sexual harassment on campus
  • Intimacies, boundaries, safety, & healing
  • Conflict related sexual violence and processes of justice
  • Ways forward in solidarity, activism and policy
