King’s Forensics Education Portfolio

Our educational portfolio complements the College’s strategic guiding principle ‘to enable meaningful connections between students, staff and, national and international communities’. Together with our two postgraduate programmes (MSc Forensic Science and MSc Analytical Toxicology), we offer an undergraduate module ‘Introduction to Forensic Science’ as an option in Year 2 and Forensic Biology and Forensic Chemistry modules in Year 3: run as problem-based learning modules since 2013. Our successful online programme, the Science Behind Forensic Science MOOC (Massive Open Online Courses are free online courses available for anyone to enroll, hosted by Future Learn), launched in 2018 is now running twice yearly attracting over 10,000 learners from all walks of life. We now have a second MOOC, The Science Behind Anti-Doping. We continue to develop our international reach, providing the desired connections through a comprehensive repertoire of educational opportunities

Master's programmes

Through our educational portfolio we endorse the School’s mission to ‘embrace strategic partnerships locally’ and ‘expand the capacity of communities to flourish’. Each master’s programme has strategic alliances with the MPS, the City of London Police and SMEs such as Intelligent Fingerprinting Ltd, which ensure that students’ research opportunities are driven by applicability to the end-user.
