There are plenty of exciting ways to engage with the global climate conversation without attending COP. This resource highlights how you can deepen your climate knowledge, connect with changemakers, and take part in meaningful opportunities - right here at King’s and beyond.
The purpose of this resource is to ensure as many students as possible can engage in learning and action linked to the global negotiations on climate change.
As a living resource, we ask you to submit your suggestions for interesting and relevant content and re-visit this page as we will update it as more events and resources become available.
What is COP?
The Conference of the Parties (COP) is the world’s most important climate summit, where governments meet to assess progress towards achieving the goals of the Paris Agreement and discuss further action to prevent climate change.
There is a strong presence from the private sector, academia and civil society at COP. UK universities often send delegates to COP, however the number of available badges for observer organisations is very limited. Unfortunately King’s does not have the badge capacity to enable students to attend the conference this year.
To learn more about COP, and COP30 in particular, check out The Nature Conservancy’s article, COP30: Your Guide to the 2025 UN Climate Change Conference.
