The Division is pleased to announce it has been granted a Silver Athena SWAN Award by the Equality Challenge Unit. This award recognises the Division’s commitment to advancing women's careers in science.
To be successful, applicants to the charter needed to undertake detailed analysis of their practices, enabling them to plan measurable action that makes a real impact. Commenting on the award, Head of Division, Mike Malim said 'I'm thrilled that our deep commitment to promoting and supporting the careers of our female staff and students has been recognised in this manner. This award provides us with a key point of reflection and will help inspire us to continue on this critically important journey. I am particularly indebted to the members of the Divisional self-assessment team, Helen Collins, Deborah Dunn-Walters, Pierre Guermonprez, Els Henckaerts, Heidi Lempp, Leonie Tamms and Martin Woodward, as well as Helena Mattingley, for composing our application.'
