King's Technology Evaluation Centre (KiTEC)
KiTEC is a health technology assessment organisation with experience in carrying out MedTech evaluations. Since 2011, KiTEC has been providing highly specialised services for a variety of clients.
KiTEC is a collaboration between the School of Biomedical Engineering and Imaging Sciences at King’s College London, King’s Health Economics, and the Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust Medical Physics department.
It is an External Assessment Centre that carries out work for NICE's Medical Technologies Evaluation Programme (MTEP) and Diagnostic Assessment Programme. MTEP selects and evaluates innovative medical technologies (including devices and diagnostics) and helps the NHS adopt efficient and cost effective medical devices and diagnostics more rapidly and consistently.
Their clients have included the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), NHS England, Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, GE Healthcare and the Evelina Hospital.
KiTEC uses specialist expertise to produce systematic reviews, meta-analyses, economic models, outcomes research, as well as services for CE marking, horizon scanning, real world data analysis and data linkage and registry analysis.
