King’s College London Polling Club

The King’s College London Polling Club offers students the chance to learn about how opinion polls work through hands-on experience. Supervised by Professor Roger Mortimore, the Polling Club each year plans a short survey of public opinion on a topic of their choosing, and designs the questionnaire. The professional research company Ipsos MORI puts the questions to a representative sample of the adult British public, and the Polling Club then analyses and reports the results.

The Polling Club includes graduate and undergraduate students studying a wide range of subjects at King’s, who meet regularly during the Spring Term to make decisions on details of the survey and to discuss the results.

Applications for membership of the 2019-20 Polling Club are now open. To apply, download a form below, and return it by email to roger.mortimore@kcl.ac.uk before 3 p.m. on Friday 13 December 2019. Or come and find out more at our introductory meeting at 12 noon on Wednesday 4 December, in Strand Building S0.12: all students who might be interested are welcome. (There's no need to book for this - just turn up.)

Polling Club meetings in the Spring semester will be held on Wednesdays, 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., in Bush House (S)2.06. (The first meeting will not be before 15 January, and there will not be a meeting every week.)

King’s College London Polling Club is a joint initiative of the Department of Political Economy at King’s and Ipsos MORI, as part of the King’s Ipsos MORI Partnership.
