Partners and collaborators

Supporting research

The School of Mental Health & Psychological Sciences is committed to research and works with a number of organisations to drive forward cutting edge collaborative research, and to provide information and support to those affected by mental and physical health problems.

King's Health Partners

King's Health Partners is an Academic Health Sciences Centre (AHSC) where cutting-edge research and existing best practice are translated into excellent patient care. It is a pioneering collaboration between King's College London and: Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation TrustKing's College Hospital and South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.

King's Trials Partnership

The King’s Trials Partnership is an initiative designed to bring together clinical trials expertise within the King’s Health Partners. The aim is to develop a strong and active network of trialists to share and expand clinical trials knowledge, to increase collaborative links between trials groups within the organisation and to assist in the development and adoption of innovative methods and practice.

To be kept informed of upcoming events, please visit King's Clinical Trials Unit website.

The NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre

The NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) funded by the NIHR to ensure that discoveries in medical science are turned into improved healthcare for patients. The centre specialises in mental health and brings together researchers, clinicians and allied health professionals, to build on a strong scientific base in biological research, psychology, epidemiology and other disciplines.

A central part of the BRC work involves the development of new psychological approaches to management of mental health problems, chronic physical health conditions and neurological disorders. Researchers within the Department of Psychology play a key role in this activity.

The Mental Health Research Network

The Mental Health Research Network (MHRN) is part of England's National Institute for Health Research (NIHR). It is run by the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience at King’s College London within the Department of Psychology and the University of Manchester. The director of the MHRN is Professor Dame Til Wykes, Professor of Clinical Psychology and Rehabilitation.

Service User Research Enterprise

Service User Research Enterprise (SURE) undertakes research that tests the effectiveness of services and treatments from the perspective of people with mental health problems and their carers. SURE aim is therefore to drive research through service user knowledge, to involve service users in a collaborative way in the whole research process.

The Service User Advisory Group

The Service User Advisory Group, supported by the NIHR BRC, is a group of service users that offers advice and expertise to the BRC as a whole and to each of its research themes.

Centre for Global Mental Health

CGMH is a joint centre between King’s Health Partners and London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. The centre aims to address inequities by closing the care gap, and to reduce human rights abuses experienced by people living with mental, neurological and substance use conditions,

Psychometric Community

The Psychometrics and Measurement Lab is involved in organising a group for King's researchers and students working on psychometrics, our local Psychometrics Community.

If you are affiliated with the College and your research involves psychometrics (developing PROMs or PREMs or other psychometric scales, applying or developing latent variable models and relevant software), or in general you are interested in the field, you could join this community by enrolling to our webpage on KEATS.
