Undergraduate courses

Strengthen your career prospects with a highly desirable combination of language skills, cultural literacy and critical thinking, taught in department with a long history of teaching both Spanish (first taught at King’s in 1831) and Portuguese (pioneered here in the 1860s).

We offer a range of single, joint and combined honours degrees, all with many opportunities for cross-disciplinary study. Explore literature, film, history, music and the visual arts, taught by staff who are experts in their fields.

You’ll also have the chance to spend studying abroad, where you can immerse yourself in a new culture and society and achieve language fluency.

The Department of Spanish, Portuguese & Latin American Studies is a vibrant and supportive community with many student-run departmental societies, newsletters, theatrical productions, seminars and musical and literary events.
