Equip yourself with the digital skills essential for success

We have developed Essential Digital Skills, an online programme designed to equip you for success by supporting your academic, professional and personal development. Learn how to cite and reference, ways to avoid plagiarism, get to grips with King’s tech and much more.

This optional programme is fully online and open to all students. You’ll learn:

  • How to use the required IT systems to support your academic development and gain confidence in their use.
  • How to be a good digital citizen and develop a positive digital identity.
  • About the digital skills required by employers.

You will receive a Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR) accreditation if you complete the programme and the relevant assessments. The HEAR accreditation will be added to your university transcript so that prospective employers know that you completed the Essential Digital Skills Programme.

‘I wish I’d done the Essential Digital Skills Programme sooner’

This was a common theme from last year’s students. You can avoid this feeling by enrolling on the programme now.

Essential Digital Skills provides practical support that can boost your academic, personal, and professional development. From the students who completed the programme evaluation last year, 78% said they use the skills learnt from the programme daily for their studies.
