Dr James Clark is spreading cheer – and perhaps making a bid for Christmas number 1 – with a new album of seasonal classics.

James, Reader in Physiology Education and the Education Lead for the School of Cardiovascular Medicine and Sciences, has spent the last three months creating the 16 track album Joy to the World with the aim of turning our labs, offices and homes into a Winter Wonderland.

‘These are all songs that remind me of Christmas and I hope you enjoy listening to them as much as I have enjoyed arranging the music, playing the instruments and singing the tracks (with a little bit of help from my wife Ali!)’

The album, which comes after a lockdown spent recording over 60 songs in his home office-cum-studio, is a product of James’s lifelong passion for music. ‘I’ve been playing music and writing songs since I was a child and lockdown last year kicked off a desire to record more and more music; my way of maintaining my mental health.’

You can listen to Joy to the World and James’s other recordings on SoundCloud.
