King’s climbs to 31st in world university rankings

We're delighted to announced that King's has been named the 31st best university in the world and 5th best in the UK in the QS World University rankings 2026.

QS is a world-renowned prestigious ranking which uses ten indicators to compile the rankings, including sustainability, international research network, academic reputation, employer outcomes and citations per Faculty. QS evaluates 8,467 institutions around the world, including 90 in the UK, and ranks 1,501 institutions.

King’s has also ranked 14th globally on the Sustainability indicator and 19th in the world on the International Research Network indicator.

King’s global ranking solidifies its place among the world’s best universities for education, research and innovation. In March 2025, King’s was named first in the world to study Nursing, and ranked among the world’s best in 41 other subjects including Geography, Dentistry, Life Sciences & Medicine and Arts & Humanities.

King’s rose from 44th to 14th globally in the QS World University Sustainability Rankings between 2024 and 2025. The biggest score increases came in the areas of environmental sustainability and governance, and improvements in environmental sustainability also contributed to the position.
