Module description

This is an intensive module aiming to give to those with little or no previous experience of Attic Greek a solid understanding of the basic grammar, syntax, and vocabulary of the language.

Assessment details

1 x 3-hour exam (50%); 2 x in-class tests (12.5% each); 1 x essay of 2,000 words (25%)

Educational aims & objectives

By the end of the year you should be able to read easy passages of Greek unseen without assistance and hence gain a deeper understanding of Ancient Greek texts in their original form.

Teaching pattern

40 x 1.5-hour seminars (twice weekly)
